In plaats van een Atlantis of the Sands vond hij de overblijfselen van wat hij dacht dat een vulkaan was, die een van de grootste inslagkraters bleek te zijn gevormd door een meteoriet.<\/p>\n<p>Monira Al Qadiri (1983), een Koeweitse beeldend kunstenaar geboren in Senegal en opgeleid in Japan, kwam met het idee. Voor haar solotentoonstelling genaamd \u201dThe Holy Quarter\u201d had ze glazen stenen\/meteorieten nodig die meer dan 100x hun oorspronkelijke grootte hebben. In 2010, she received a Ph.D. in inter-media art from Tokyo University of the Arts, where her research was focused on the aesthetics of sadness in the Middle-East stemming from poetry, music, art and religious practices. Her work explores unconventional gender identities, petro-cultures and their possible futures, as well as the legacies of corruption.
